Hayes Street. On August 12 at 3:45 pm, two unknown people stole items from four employee lockers at a business. The suspects were both African American females in their early 20’s. BURGLARY 08/11/08, 1600 block of S. Crystal Drive. Sometime between 7 pm on August 9, and 5:45 am on August 11, an unknown subject broke into a business and vandalized the property. Between 4 pm on August 7, and 11 am on August 9, two vehicles were broken into, and electronic items were stolen. There are no known suspects. There is no suspect description. STOLEN AUTO 08/08/08, MD 8DVK08, 2008 Mazda 3, black, 2000 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway ROBBERY 08/06/08, 2100 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On August 6 at 5 pm, while a man was removing items from his trunk an unknown subject grabbed a bag on his shoulder. When the victim turned around, the suspect sprayed him with pepper spray. The two men struggled, and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a tall, heavyset, white male in his twenties with short light brown hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt and running shorts. Between July 25 and July 27, a subject entered a residence and stole electronics and jewelry. There are no known suspects. MALICIOUS WOUNDING 07/27/08, 1300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. On July 26 at 11:30 pm, a male went to a party at a hotel. A group of men unknown to the victim entered the party, and a fight ensued. One suspect took a broken piece of glass and cut the victim’s hand with it. The suspect is described as an African American male in his early 20’s, 5’8”, with a muscular build. The suspect also has shoulder length dreadlocks. BURGLARY 07/25/08, 2400 block of Army Navy Drive. Sometime between 4 pm on July 18, and 2 pm on July 25, an unknown subject broke into a residence and stole jewelry. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY 07/21/08, 2400 block of Army Navy Drive. On July 7 at 7:30 am, an employee realized the business had been broken into over the weekend. No items were stolen, and there is no suspect description. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 07/07/08, 200 block of S. 20th Street. Sometime between 3:30 pm on July 3, and noon on July 7, an unknown subject broke into a construction office. Electronic equipment was stolen. There are no known suspects. SEXUAL BATTERY-ARREST 07/06/08, 1200 block of S. Eads Street. On July 6 at 5 pm, a woman was walking on a pedestrian walkway when a man approached and grabbed her. Police located the suspect shortly afterward. Zakaria Mohamed, 20, of Alexandria, was charged with Sexual Battery. He was held without bond. ASSAULT AND BATTERY 07/06/08, 1800 block of S. Fern Street. On July 6 at 3 am, police responded to the area for a call about an assault. A female stated that an unknown man followed her taxi from a club in DC, and approached her when she exited. She ran from the suspect, and stated that he held a knife to her. She freed herself and called police. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 30’s. He was 6’, 175 lbs, with a full beard and mustache, trimmed short. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, dark jeans, and black shoes. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:20 pm on June 28, a 21 year old woman was walking on a sidewalk when a man came up from behind and slapped her on the buttocks. The suspect then got into the passenger side of an older model, black Nissan and drove away. He is described as a black male, approximately 5'5" to 5'8" inches tall, 130-160 lbs. with short black, kinky hair. BURGLARY 06/27/08, 1200 block of S. Clark Street. Crystal Drive ATTEMPTED COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 06/24/08, 1200 block of S. Clark Street. Between 5:30 pm on June 23, and 6:45 am on June 24, an unknown subject attempted to break into a business. They located a subject who was in possession of stolen property from a car break-in. Terry Benjamin, 33, of Cheverly, MD, was charged with Unlawful Entry and Possession of Stolen Property. He was held without bond. STOLEN AUTO 06/19/08, MD 22V417, 1995 GMC van, white; 1500 block of S. Crystal Drive. ATTEMPT TO DISARM POLICE-ARREST 06/18/08, 2200 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. On June 18 at 10:30 pm, police responded to the area for a dispute. A male on at the scene was disorderly. While interacting with police, he attempted to take an officer’s taser unit. Thurston Williams, 40, of Arlington, was charged with Drunk in Public and Attempt to Disarm a Police Officer. He was held without bond. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 06/17/08, 1900 block of S. Eads Street. Between 6 pm on June 13, and 6 am on June 16, and unknown subject broke into a business. There is no suspect description. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 06/16/08, 2000 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 5 pm on June 13, and 7:45 am on June 16, and unknown subject broke into a business and stole electronic equipment. There is no suspect description. GRAND LARCENY AUTO, 06/14/08, 2300 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 10:15 am on June 14, someone took an overnight delivery van while the driver was inside a convenience store. The van was recovered a short time later about a block away. Most of the packages had been removed from the vehicle. ROBBERY, 06/14/08, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 6:30 pm on June 14, a 15 year old boy was approached by a group of juveniles who forcibly took a gold necklace. The victim was not injured. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY, 06/12/08, 2000 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 5 pm on June 11, and 7 am on June 12, an unknown subject broke into a business and stolen computer equipment. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY 06/10/08, 1600 block of S. Eads Street. Between 6 am and 6:30 pm on June 10, an unknown subject broke into an apartment and stole various items. There is no suspect description. BURGLARY 06/09/08, 2300 block of S. 26th Street. On June 9, between 3 am and 3:20 am, a subject entered the mail room of an apartment building. This burglary is also related to a larceny which occurred around the same time at nearby location. The suspects are described as two African American males. CARJACKING 06/08/08, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. On June 8, at 6 pm, a male picked up an unknown female in his vehicle. When he dropped her off in front of the mall, three unknown males approached the vehicle. One of the males got into the passenger side of the vehicle. The driver exited the vehicle and began fighting with the other two males. One of the other males then entered the vehicle and drove it away. The third male ran into the metro. The three males were all African American, in their early 20’s. One male was 5’7”, 300 lbs, wearing a red shirt. The second male was 5’7”, 165 lbs, wearing a black shirt, black bandana, and carrying a black bag. The female was African American with a light complexion, 26 years old, 5’6”, and 140lbs. She was last seen wearing a jean skirt, a yellow shirt, and yellow high heeled shoes. At 10 pm on June 5, two unknown men were shown on surveillance entering a kiosk at a mall. The first male is described as an African American male, in his late teens, with short hair. He was wearing jeans, a white tank top, red underwear, and white shoes. The second suspect was an African American male in dark clothing. COMMERCIAL BURGLARY 06/01/08, 700 block of S. 23rd St. Between 10:30 pm on May 31 and 1:30 pm on June 1, someone broke into a retail business and took money from the cash register. Hayes St. At approximately 6:56 am on May 30, a male suspect broke into a clothing store’s storage room and attempted to take a large amount of merchandise. When the suspect exited the room he was met by waiting police officers and taken into custody. Jake Bernard Johnson, 58, of Mount Rainier, MD, was charged with Burglary, Grand Larceny, Possession of Burglarious Tools, and Larceny with Intent to Distribute for this incident and a similar break-in at the same location on May 29. He was held without bond. COMMERICAL BURGLARY 05/29/08, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 7:19 pm on May 28 and 7:45 am on May 29, someone entered a storage room and took clothing and a computer monitor. ROBBERY 05/29/08, 2100 block of S. Fern. At approximately 11:35 am on May 29, a 77 year old woman was walking home, when a man came up behind her and forcibly took her purse from her arm. The suspect is described as a black male in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 lbs., wearing black pants and a beige t-shirt. GRAND LARCENY 05/27/08, 2700 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. Between May 21 and 12:30 pm on May 27, someone entered an ATM machine in a hotel lobby and took cash. MALICIOUS WOUNDING 05/25/08, 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. At approximately 11 pm on May 25, a 52 year old man reported he was attempting to get into a hotel elevator when a male suspect inside the elevator struck him with an unknown object. The victim suffered a laceration on his head. The suspect was not located. He is described as a while male, approximately 6 feet tall and 240 lbs., with light brown hair. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 05/24/08, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 12:25 pm and 1:40 pm on May 24, someone smashed the front passenger windows of two separate cars and stole both portable GPS systems. MALICIOUS WOUNDING 05/23/08, 1300 block of S. Joyce St. Between 10:02 am and 10:15 am on May 23, two female coworkers at a retail store got into a physical altercation. The suspect punched the victim repeatedly. The victim sustained a broken nose and several cuts. Shante Taylor, 19, of Washington, D.C. was charged with Malicious Wounding and held without bond. STOLEN AUTO 05/22/08, VA YTG6037, 1997 BMW, light blue, 1700 block of Crystal Drive MALICIOUS WOUNDING 05/21/08, 2000 block of S. Eads St. On May 21 at 8:15 pm, an unknown female was allowed into an apartment. While inside, she attempted to cut one of several males with a pocket knife. Another male tried to restrain her and she cut him in the finger. The female and three other individuals inside the apartment then left the scene before police arrived. The investigation is ongoing. On May 20, between 3 am and 8 am, four vehicles were broken into. All vehicles were locked and forcibly entered. There are no known suspects. BURGLARY 05/18/08, 800 block of S. 18th Street. Between 3 am on May 10 and 12:30 am on May 18, someone entered a home while the residents were away and took cash and other items. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 05/17/08, 1600 block of S. Crystal Drive. Between 2 am and 5:05 am on May 17, someone gained entry to a restaurant by damaging the front door. It does not appear anything was taken. ROBBERY 05/16/08, 1200 block of S. Hayes Street. On May 15 at 11:30 pm, an employee was attempting to make deposit at a bank when an unknown subject approached from behind. The suspect took the deposit bag from the employee and fled. The suspect is described as an African American male in his early 20’s, 6’, 180 lbs, with dreadlocks and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a green striped shirt and jeans. STOLEN AUTO 05/16/08, VA KEH-2906, 2004 GMC Savanna Van, White, 1200 block of S. Clark Street ATTEMPTED ROBBERY 05/15/08, 1800 block of S. Bell Street. At midnight on May 15, a man was walking when he was hit from behind by an unknown subject. The suspect produced a knife and demanded money. The victim fled the area and called police. The suspect is described as an African American male, 40 years old, 5’8”, thin, with short facial hair. The suspect was last seen wearing all black clothing, with a black bucket style hat and black backpack. BURGLARY 05/15/08, 2100 S. Crystal Drive. At 6 am on May 15, an employee reported that the business surveillance video captured a break in and theft of a computer from the previous night. The suspect is described as an African American male, 25 to 25 years old, wearing a black jacket with grey sleeves, jeans, and brown shoes. On May 3 at 5:30 pm, an unknown subject attempted to gain access to an apartment. The resident was at home when the door opened, a chain lock prevented the suspect from gaining entry. Upon arrival, they discovered the business had been broken into, and a vehicle was possibly stolen. Fern Street ROBBERY 04/26/08, 2900 block of S. Arlington Ridge Road. On April 26 at 1:30 am, a man was waiting at the bus stop when he was approached and robbed by three unknown men. The suspects are described as two African American males and one white Hispanic male. ASSAULT AND BATTERY/DISCHARGE OF A FIREARM 04/26/08, 2000 block of S. Eads Street. On April 26 at 2 am, police responded to the area for a fight. A fight occurred between two groups of people unknown to each other. A firearm was possibly discharged. The investigation is ongoing. EXPOSURE 04/26/08, 1500 block of S. Jefferson Davis Highway. On April 26 at 12:30 pm, a man drove up beside a woman standing on the sidewalk. He exposed himself to her and then drove away in a white sedan. He is described as a white Hispanic male. STOLEN AUTO 04/24/08, MD 345702, 2000 Chevy Express, white, 2000 block of S. Eads Street ROBBERY 04/23/08, 700 block of S. 15th Street. At 3:30 pm on April 23, two men walking through a parking lot were approached by a vehicle. Two suspects exited the car and demanded personal electronics, which they took from the victims. The suspects then got into the vehicle, which was driven by a third male, and drove away. The suspects are described as two African American males, one large, and one thin. BURGLARY 04/23/08, 3000 block of S. 20th Street. Between 7 am on April 22, and 4 pm on April 23, an unknown subject entered a residence and stole two computers. BURGLARY 04/18/08, 1400 block of S. 28th Street. Between 3 pm and 4 pm on April 18, someone entered an apartment through an open window and took jewelry and electronics. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 04/17/08, 2000 block of S. 27th Street. Sometime between 8:30 am on April 14 and 3:30 pm on April 17, an unknown subject attempted to gain access to a residence by damaging the door. STOLEN AUTO 04/16/08 DE C16700, 2000 Chevy Express, white, 1300 block of S. Crystal Drive ATTEMPTED ROBBERY/CAR JACKING 04/14/08, 2900 block of S. Glebe Road. On April 14 at 2:30 pm, a subject approached a male and asked for a ride to a disabled vehicle. After the man drove around Arlington, the passenger brandished a weapon and demanded money. The victim fled the vehicle and asked bystanders for help. The suspect attempted to steal the vehicle, but then fled on foot. The suspect was described as an African American male, 25-35 years of age, 5’6”-5’9”, 140lbs, wearing a blue sweatshirt, and dark pants. GRAND LARCENY AUTO 04/14/08, 1100 block of S. Joyce Street. At 3:30 pm on April 14, the same suspect from the robbery/carjacking walked to a vehicle parked in front of the Harris Teeter Store. The keys were in the ignition as the vehicle’s owner loaded groceries into the back of the vehicle. The suspect entered the vehicle and drove it away. Sometime between noon on April 5, and 7 am on April 7, an unknown subject broke into a secure room at a hotel, and stole money. There is no suspect description. CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT GRAND LARCENY - ARRESTS 04/04/08, 1500 block of S. Eads Street. At approximately 3:34 pm on April 4, a witness called police after observing 4 suspects break into a vehicle. The suspects smashed the front passenger window and took an iPod. The witness followed the suspects until he lost sight of them. The suspects, four male juveniles from Washington, D.C., were taken into custody a short time later by Pentagon Police near the Pentagon Metro Station. The victim’s iPod was recovered. At 7 am on March 17, the victim discovered his apartment had been broken into sometime since 6 pm on Friday, March 14, by a subject known to him and his roommate. Cell phones, a laptop, and assorted personal property were taken. MALICIOUS WOUNDING 02/24/08, 2000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 4:00 am and 4:07 am on February 24, a woman attacked a male acquaintance as he was driving her home. From the backseat of the vehicle, she punched and kicked him and scratched his face, causing the victim to temporarily lose control of the vehicle. Elizabeth Anne Tappan, 23, of Alexandria, was arrested, charged with malicious wounding and held on $10,000 bond. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/22/08, 1800 and 2400 blocks of S. Eads St. BRANDISHING OF FIREARM 02/05/08, 1000 block S. Hayes St. On February 5 around 8:50 am a 38 year old woman was involved in a traffic altercation with a man at a stop light. The suspect pointed a firearm at the victim then fled south on I-395. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver Dodge Caliber with tinted windows and possibly Maryland license plates. ARMED ROBBERY 02/04/08, 3000 block S. Glebe Rd. On February 4 at approximately 8:37 pm, officers were dispatched to the 4000 block of Mount Vernon Avenue in Alexandria to meet with a victim of a robbery that had occurred in Arlington. The victim stated that he was robbed at knifepoint of cash while on the bike trail in the area. Both of the suspects are known to the victim, but could only be described as Hispanic males who are 25 to 40 years old. The investigation is ongoing. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 02/02/08, 2400 block of S. Army Navy Drive. Between 10 pm on February 2 and 9:10 am on February 3, someone broke into 4 vehicles in a parking garage. GPS units and other items were taken from at least 2 of the vehicles. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES)/RECOVERED STOLEN AUTO - ARRESTS 02/01/08, Various Addresses. On February 1, at least 27 vehicles were broken into on S. Quebec Street, S. Arlington Mill Drive, S. Four Mile Run Drive, S. Wakefield Street, S. Chesterfield Road, S. George Mason Drive, S. 28th Road, S. 16th Street and S. 17th Street. GPS units, iPods and other electronic devices were taken. Witnesses reported seeing 2 men fleeing the area in a black Crown Victoria. A short time later, an Arlington Police Officer and a Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the car northbound on I-395. The suspect vehicle crashed into a guardrail on the highway and the suspects then fled on foot. They were found hiding inside an apartment building in the 1100 block of Army Navy Drive and taken into custody without incident. Officers recovered numerous electronic devices on the suspects and in their vehicle. The investigation is continuing. Police Website http://www.arlingtonva.us/Departments/Police/PoliceMain.aspx JANUARY 2008 FELONY HIT & RUN/ARREST 01/31/08, I-395 Southbound, south of Washington Blvd. On January 31 around 10:24 pm, a Toyota Tundra was southbound on I-395 in the area of Washington Blvd when the driver braked suddenly. The Honda CRV traveling behind the Toyota struck the Toyota in the rear. The Toyota fled the scene and was apprehended by police a short time later. There were no injuries reported but both vehicles sustained significant damage. Pichet Laosiri, 37, of Lake Ridge, was arrested and charged with Hit and Run and DUI. He was given an unsecured bond and released on Personal Recognizance. STOLEN AUTO 01/31/08 MD 6CAZ29; 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis, white; 2000 block Jefferson Davis Highway ATTEMPTED CARJACKING 01/28/08, 1400 block S. Hayes St. On January 28 around 5:21 pm, a 50 year old woman was approached in the mall parking garage by a subject who demanded her vehicle. The suspect was armed with a gun. The victim screamed and the suspect assaulted her. She suffered minor injuries. A bystander approached and the suspect ran from the scene without getting the victim’s car. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’8” tall, 185 – 200 pounds, in his late 20’s or early 30’s, wearing a black or navy jacket, dark pants, and a blue or black knit wool hat with an emblem. The investigation is ongoing. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/27/08, 2000 block of S. Glebe Rd. Between 8 pm on January 26 and 12 pm on January 27, someone broke into 3 vehicles in a parking lot and took various items including a portable GPS device. ROBBERY/MALICIOUS WOUNDING 01/24/08, 1200 block S. Eads St. On January 24 around 11:31 pm, three men were walking in the area when they were approached by two subjects who asked them for money. A struggle ensued and the suspects took two of the victims’ personal property. The third victim was assaulted and sustained a non-life threatening injury to his face. The suspects fled the scene and possibly left in a purple or maroon Chrysler PT Cruiser. Suspect #1 is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a dark baseball hat. Suspect #2 is described as a black male in his 20’s, 5’10” tall, 160 pounds, wearing a dark ‘pea’ coat. ROBBERY 01/23/08, 1600 block S. Joyce St. On January 23 around 8:46 pm, a 26 year old woman was walking in the area when a man took the victim’s book bag. The man and a second suspect fled north on Joyce St in a light colored four door vehicle. They could only be described as two black males in their 20’s. Eads St. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 01/22/08, 1100 block S. 23 Rd, 1000 block S. 26 St, 2300 block S. Joyce St, 2200-2300 blocks S. Ives St, 900 block S. 20 St. Sometime between January 21 and January 22, someone broke out the windows of twelve parked vehicles in the above listed areas. It is suspected that a bb gun was used. BURGLARY 01/22/08, 600 block S. Glebe Rd. Sometime between 9:30 and 11:45 am on January 22, someone entered a residence through unknown means. The residence was left in disarray but it does not appear that anything was taken. Walter Reed Dr, 4400-4500 blocks Arlington Blvd, 1200 block N. Troy St, 2300 block N. 11 St, 1300 block Ft. Myer Dr, 2700 block Arlington Blvd, 4300 block Old Dominion Dr, and 700 block N. Abingdon St. BURGLARY 01/20/08, 600 block S. 23 St. Sometime between 11 am and 3:30 pm on January 20, someone entered a residence through unknown means and took a computer, jewelry and other assorted personal property. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 01/18/08, 2300 block S. Crystal Dr. Sometime between 4 pm on January 17 and 6 am on January 18, someone damaged a door to a business by trying to pry it open. It does not appear that entry was gained. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 01/18/08, 2300 block S. Crystal Dr. On January 18, an office was found to have pry marks on a door. It does not appear that entry was gained. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY (SERIES) 01/17/08, 1700-2300 blocks S. Eads St. A series of parking meters in the area were found to have been broken into and the money taken from them. STOLEN AUTO 01/15/08, VA KGX5625, 2007 Ford Explorer, blue, 2000 block Jefferson Davis Highway BURGLARY 01/13/08, 2000 block of Army Navy Drive. Between 3:30 pm on January 12 and 3 pm on January 13, someone broke into a vacant home through a back door. It does not appear anything was taken from the home. BURGLARY 01/12/08, 600 block of S. Clark St. Between 4:40 pm and 6:20 pm on January 12, someone entered an office in a business and took a safe containing cash. BURGLARY 01/09/08, 1500 block S. Arlington Ridge Rd. On January 9 around 12:12 pm, a citizen came home to find that some of his items had been disturbed. He then found a subject hiding in his living room. The victim fled the apartment, as did the suspect. The suspect is described as an older black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a dark hat and dark shirt. He possibly left driving a silver, late model Honda two door car. Items taken include two laptop computers, several dvds and video games. GRAND LARCENY 01/09/08, 1400 block S. 28 St. Sometime between 3:25 pm on January 8 and 6:55 am on January 9, someone broke into construction trailers and took a large amount of copper wire. ROBBERY BY FORCE 01/08/08, 600 block S. 26 St. On January 8 around 9:55 pm, a 42 year old man was walking on S. 26 St. when he was approached by two subjects. One of the suspects implied that he had a weapon and demanded the victim’s money. The victim complied and the suspects took the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The victim was struck in the face during the incident, receiving a minor injury. The suspects fled on foot south on S. 26 St. K-9 attempted a track but was unable to locate the suspects. They are described as black males, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, skinny, with dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY BY FORCE 01/07/08, 4600 block S. Four Mile Run Dr. On January 7 around 3 pm, a 26 year old woman was walking on the bike path when she was attacked from behind. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse after the victim fell to the ground. The victim began kicking the suspect and the suspect dropped the victim’s purse. The victim then fled the scene. The suspect is described as a black female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 180 to 250 pounds, with black hair and hair extensions, wearing blue jeans. BURGLARY 01/06/08, 2000 block S. Eads St. Between 1 pm on December 21 and 7 pm on January 6, someone entered an apartment and took numerous electronic items. ARMED ROBBERY 01/04/08, 1300 block S. Joyce St. Between 7 pm and 7:55 pm on January 4, a 36 year old man had just left a store when two men came up behind him. One of the suspects punched the victim in the face, then pointed a weapon at him and demanded money. The suspects took cash and merchandise the victim had just purchased, then fled on foot. Both are described as black males, 16 to 18 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with slender builds. BURGLARY 01/04/08, 3400 block S. Eads St. Sometime between 2 pm on December 27 and 2 pm on January 4, someone entered a construction site and took several pieces of construction equipment. Hayes St. LARCENY FROM AUTO/ATTEMPTED LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 01/01/08, 2700 block S. Eads St, 600 block S. 26 St, 700 block S. 25 St. Sometime between midnight and 8 am on January 1, someone stole tires from two vehicles parked in the area. Suspects attempted but failed to take a tire from another nearby car. Army Navy Dr. Sometime between 8 pm on December 27 and 6:30 am on December 28, someone broke into three cars parked in the area. Leather laptop cases and two laptop computers were taken. STOLEN AUTO 12/27/07 VA YFU5555; 1997 Honda Accord, green; 2700 block S. Fern St. LARCENY FROM AUTO - ARRESTS 12/24/07, 1300 block of S. Crystal Drive. At approximately 7:18 pm on December 24, officers responded for a report of 2 men breaking into vehicles. Two suspects were located who matched the descriptions provided by a witness. A GPS unit taken from a vehicle was found nearby. Another GPS device was found in a bag that one of the suspects was carrying. That device was taken from another vehicle earlier in the evening. The two suspects were taken into custody for grand larceny, petit larceny and destruction of property. One is a 17 year old juvenile. The other is 18 year old Andrew Franklin of Washington, D.C. BURGLARY 12/24/07, 1200 block of S. Fern St. Between 5:30 pm on December 23 and 5:30 am on December 24, someone entered the loading dock of a package delivery company and took an undetermined number of boxes. STOLEN AUTO 12/24/07, MD 53N677, 2003 Ford E350 Van, Yellow/Red, 800 block of S. Army Navy Drive GRAND LARCENY AUTO/LARCENY FROM AUTO/RECKLESS DRIVING 12/20/07, 850 block Army Navy Drive. On December 20 at approximately 6:41 pm, officers were dispatched to the Pentagon City Mall for a larceny from auto in progress involving a white Jeep Cherokee. Two cars had been broken into – one had a stereo/GPS system stolen and the other had a handgun stolen. Officers located the Cherokee later the same evening in Washington DC, but the suspects had fled the scene. They are described as being two black males, in their twenties, wearing baggy clothing. The Cherokee was later reported to have been stolen from the Mall parking garage earlier the same afternoon. The investigation is ongoing. BURGLARY 12/19/07, 1600 block S. Joyce St. Sometime between 8 pm on December 18 and 7:30 am on December 19, someone broke into a business through the front door and took cash from the register. On November 1 around 8:33 pm, a Toyota Camry was southbound on I-395 in the left lane when a champagne-colored Cadillac four door struck the Toyota from behind. The Cadillac left the scene, driving south on I-395. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. ARMED ROBBERY, 11/03/07, 600 block of S. 15th St. At approximately 9:30 pm on November 3, a 57 year old man was walking down the street when he was confronted by a male suspect armed with a gun. The suspect took the victim’s wallet and fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 150-160 lbs., with a medium build and a clean shaven face. He was wearing dark clothing. INDECENT EXPOSURE 11/05/07, 500 block S. 23 St. On November 5 around 9:10 pm, two women observed a man masturbating near a restaurant in the 500 block of S. 23rd St. Anthony Jones, 39, of North Carolina, was arrested and charged with indecent exposure. He was held on a $1500 secured bond. LARCENY FROM AUTO/VANDALISM TO AUTO (SERIES) 11/06/07, 2100 block Jefferson Davis Highway. Between 6:30 pm on November 5 and 6:45 am on November 6, four vehicles had windows broken. GPS units and other assorted items were taken from several of the vehicles. LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 11/07/07, 2600 & 2800 blocks Jefferson Davis Highway. Sometime between 10:30 pm on November 6 and 7:15 on November 7, someone broke into three cars parked in area parking garages. GPS units were taken from each vehicle, as well as assorted personal items. STOLEN AUTO 11/02/07 VA KFK-1890; 1997 Nissan Sentra, Gray; 1400 block of S. Crystal Drive STOLEN AUTO 10/31/07 MD KPV-605; 1992 Honda Accord, green; 3200 block S. Eads St. ARMED ROBBERY, 11/12/07, 1200 block S. Eads St. On November 12 around 11:39 pm, a 37 year old man was unloading his parked vehicle in the rear of a parking lot when he was robbed at gunpoint by two black males armed with pistols. The suspects had gotten out of a black Jeep Cherokee or Liberty with dark tinted windows. The suspects took the victim’s backpack and other personal items. The suspects fled the parking lot towards S. Eads St. Both of the suspects as well as the driver of the Jeep are described as black males, in their 20’s, 6 feet tall, approximately 170 pounds, wearing black jackets, black pants and black knit caps. BURGLARY, 11/12/07, 2000 block Jefferson Davis Highway. Sometime between 7:10 and 9:10 am on November 12, someone entered a business suite and took a laptop computer. ARMED ROBBERY, 11/13/07, S. 23 St/S. Hayes St. On November 13 around 9:45 pm, a 28 year old man was waiting at a bus stop in the area. He was approached by a man and woman. The man displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings. The victim complied and turned over his gym bag along with other personal items. The suspects fled north on S. Hayes St. K-9 tracked in the area but was unable to locate the suspects. The male suspect is described as black, approximately 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, wearing a black one piece jump suit with a hood. The female suspect is described as black, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, 120 pounds, in her mid teens, with her hair in corn rows, and wearing dark jeans with a dark zip up jacket. BURGLARY (Residence), 11/13/07, 600 block S. 21 St. Sometime between the hours of 9 am and 6:45 pm on November 13, someone broke into a residence through a basement window. A computer, camcorder, and other assorted items were stolen. LARCENY FROM LOCKER (series), 11/14/07, 1200 block S. Joyce St. Sometime between the hours of 10:05 am and 11:10 am on November 14, someone broke into two lockers at a gym and stole two wallets. FELONY HIT & RUN 11/15/07, I-395 S/Arlington Ridge Rd. On November 15 around 7:45 am, a Toyota pickup truck was southbound on I-395 near the exit for Arlington Ridge Rd when it was struck in the rear by a white car. The victim vehicle was sent spinning into the guardrail and it sustained significant damage. No injuries were reported. BURGLARY 11/16/07, 1200 block S. Clark St. Sometime between 5:30 pm on November 16 and 5:30 am on November 19, someone entered a business through unknown means and took cash and cigarettes. BURGLARY 11/18/07, 1500 block Jefferson Davis Highway. On November 18 around 10:45 am, a man entered an occupied residence through unknown means. The man was found by a roommate to be looking into a bedroom occupied by another resident. The suspect fled the scene. He is described as a white male with an olive complexion, 24 to 26 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, 160 pounds, wearing a brown or black zip-up jacket and blue jeans. FELONY HIT & RUN 11/18/07, 2300 block S. Jefferson Davis Highway. On November 18 around 2:08 am, a moped was traveling south on Jefferson Davis Highway in the center lane when the driver attempted to change to the right lane. The right lane was occupied by a black Hyundai at the time, and the two collided. The moped was knocked over during the collision. The Hyundai fled the scene, driving towards National Airport. The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. BURGLARY 11/19/07, 2300 block S. Crystal Dr. Sometime between 5:30 pm on November 16 and 7:30 am on November 19, someone entered a business through unknown means and took five laptop computers and a U.S. Passport. LARCENY FROM AUTO (SERIES) 1400 block S. Joyce St. Sometime between 2 pm on November 18 and 8:48 pm on November 19, someone entered two cars by breaking out windows. A GPS unit was taken from one of the vehicles. This appears to be related to a recent series of larceny from autos involving GPS units. ROBBERY, 11/24/07, 1100 block of S. Hayes St. Between 7:15 pm and 7:20 pm on November 24, a 19 year old woman was in a store when her phone vibrated in her pocket. When she took the phone out of her pocket a man grabbed it out of her hand and ran. DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY/LARCENY FROM AUTO (series), 11/28/07, 2600 block Jefferson Davis Highway. Sometime between 12:15 am and 8:15 am on November 28, someone broke out windows on three vehicles parked in a garage. A GPS unit was taken from one of the cars. Kent St, 800 & 900 blocks S. 26th St. Sometime between 7 pm and 8:11 pm on October 7, someone broke windows on five cars in the area, possibly with a BB gun. MALICIOUS WOUNDING, 10/26/07, 2315 S. Eads St. (Kabob Palace). At approximately 3:27 am a 37 year old man was attacked after an argument inside a restaurant. The victim suffered several injuries to the head and was treated at a local hospital. The suspect fled in a vehicle. Eads St. 09/14/07 At approximately 6:57 pm on September 14, a yellow 4-door Ford sedan, traveling westbound on S. 23rd Street, ran a red light and collided with minivan. The driver of the car did not stop. This incident is still under investigation. BURGLARY 800 block S. 23 St. 9/21/07b Between 7:30 am and 6:23 pm on September 21, someone entered a residence through a window and rummaged through the home. It does not appear anything was taken. BURGLARY 1600 block S. Hayes St. 9/21/07 Between 8 am and 5:30 pm on September 21, someone pried open a door to gain access to a home and took laptop computers, electronic devices and jewelry. ATTEMPTED BURGLARY 1400 block S. Joyce St. 9/22/07 Between 5:45 am and 6:30 am on September 22, someone attempted to pry open the door to an apartment. It does not appear that entry was made into the residence.
